The bulk of the series is made up of day books or journals, 1660 to 1815. There are also melting books, 1625-1664 and accounts, including Comptroller's balance books and ledgers, 1666-1808, comptrolment rolls 1660 to 1845 as well as general accounts and ledgers, 1642-1945. There are also papers relating to coins of particular denominations,1803 to 1928. There are files relating to the withdrawal and recoinage of gold coins which were below the minimum weight (called 'light gold coin'), 1798 to 1932 and to the withdrawal of worn silver coin, 1860 to 1871.
