Tadeusz Wojciech SZUMLICZ: Polish. A member of the Polish army at the outbreak of war, he served in Norway and France. When the Polish forces were dispersed he made his way to Paris, where he was recruited by the German Intelligence Service. He claimed that from there he escaped to Spain and thence to the UK, where he was never cleared of suspicion of working to an Abwehr brief. He was returned to Poland after the war
