Kenneth Edward BERRY: he joined the Royal Navy in 1940, aged fifteen. When his ship was sunk in September that year, he was rescued and interned by the Germans. He later joined the British Free Corps and helped in the recruitment to the German cause of fellow-prisoners. He was convicted in 1945 of assisting the enemy and sentenced to nine months hard labour.
