DOMINICA. Report on the Caribs. Sends a report on the history of the Carib race from 16th century to the present time, together with a map showing the Carib Reserve in the north-east of Dominica and a plan of the proposed boundaries of the Reserve. States that a survey has been made on the subject and he proposes to pay the Carib Chief, Auguste Francois, a stipend of £6 a year out of the Crown Land Fund. Sends some baskets containing specimen of stone implements manufactured and used by the Caribs in 'the old days'. Includes 4 photographs depicting: Report on Carib race of Dominica: children (group photo); Carib canoe; pure bred Caribs (group photo); bay on Carib reserve, Dominica. Dated [1933].
