Page 648: Admiralty (W F Nicholson) to Sec War Office 1 October 1914: Lords Commissioners have received telegram from Commander in Chief Cape of Good Hope that he desires strongly to support a proposal for three battalions territorial infantry be sent to garrison the Cape peninsula.

Page 649: Admiralty to Commander in Chief Cape 1 October 1914: To relieve pressure on your resources East Coast has been transferred to East Indies station.
