This series contains files of the Fatstock Marketing Division and its successors dealing with the administration of the fatstock guarantee scheme and policy questions affecting fatstock.
Subjects include animal certification marks, grading standards, unsatisfactory markets, grade and deadweight, the decontrol and new arrangements of meat and livestock, the setting up and running of the fatstock guarantee scheme. Also included are liaison with the agricultural departments, the NFU and other trade and professional bodies. Some minutes of meetings of the Fatstock Marketing Division's Standing Committee, 1954-1957, are also included.
The series includes some files, from before 1955, re-registered from Ministry of Food file series.
