The series includes records on the operation of the egg guarantee through the British Egg Marketing Board and the winding up of the board; consideration of the report of the Reorganisation Commission for Eggs, 1968; the work of the Poultry (Stock Improvement) Advisory Committee, the Poultry Stock Improvement Plan; the setting-up and working of Poultry Progeny Testing Stations; egg and poultry statistics; the import and export of poultry and eggs; and small fur-bearing livestock, such as mink and chinchillas.
Many early files in this series contain pre-1957 papers re-registered from the C20 file series (MAF 85) and PRG file series (MAF 54 and MAF 125)

The Egg and Poultry Division was also responsible for the three poultry progeny testing stations established at Levens Hall Farm, near Harrogate, Wheaton Ashton and Phoenice Farm, Great Bookham, in Surrey, which operated between 1955 and 1964.
