John Wilson Croker. James Burr, Master of the Wood Mills in Portsmouth, has asked for superannuation due to age and infirmity. Are sending a certificate of his good conduct. He served as a workman until December 1796, when he was employed as Draughtsman to the Inspector General of Naval Works until April 1805, when he took up his present appointment. Recommend Peter Holmes, the Assistant at the Wood Mills, to be appointed to succeed James Burr, the assistant post remaining vacant for the time being. Are sending Mr Holmes's petition with the Officers' recommendation.
