John Wilson Croker. The half pay of John Watson, a Master in the Navy, was recently stopped, on his having taken Holy Orders. Are sending for consideration copy letters from him, explaining his proceedings and asking that in lieu of his half pay, he may be allowed the pension sanctioned in such cases by Order in Council of 3rd May 1826. Mr Watson did not seek permission to withdraw, or absent himself from the service, and claims ignorance of the necessity of doing so, but there was no other concealment of his intentions. Ask for directions.
