Description

Letter from the Navy Pay Office to the Navy Board. Upwards of £1,100 had been received more than 13 years ago by the Agent for the British Forces, which formed the Garrison at Buenos Aires. Part of the crews of the Raisonable, Diomede, Diadem, Narcissus and Leda had been sent on shore after the capture of that fortress. The Treasurer required the Agent to account for the money in question, with interest thereon during the time it had been withheld. Give details of the Agent's response and ask whether, in the peculiar circumstances, the amount of the fees claimed can be reduced.
