Circular to Portsmouth, Plymouth, Sheerness and Chatham with corrections. The Fleet is to be reduced. Long serving Seamen are to be assisted in claiming Greenwich pensions. Chaplains and Commanders at Portsmouth are to act first. Only men serving 14 years after their 18th birthday will qualify, provided their particulars are listed and certificates sent to the Board. Discharged men are required to state where they intend to live. Pension tickets are to be sent to those addresses. Specific procedures are to be followed for those already in receipt of pensions. Provisions are made for wounded men to receive a supplement to their pensions provided they submit to examination. Officers are required to inform crews that increments in pension entitlement are linked to length of service. Prize money is to be collected at Greenwich. Claims for prize money must be made in writing with letters posted from the discharged Seaman's place of abode.
