Description

John Wilson Croker. The London Gazette reported the visit of HRH Prince Regent to Portsmouth when he directed £3,000 be distributed among the Artificers and Labourers of the dockyard, including the Ordinary and Victualling Department. Commissioner Sir George Gray states the workmen have applied to be paid their proportion of this Bounty. This Board has received no direction on the matter. Ask for the Admiralty to take whatever steps it deems proper.
