- Folios 371-372. Appointment form for Charles Edward Sloper as Medical Officer for the Lantrisant District. The form shows Sloper of Pontyppridd. The salary to be £50 per annum. The post became vacant due to mental incapacity of the previous officer. Annotated: there is no certificate furnished at present as to the mental derangement of Mr H Wood and no objection to this appointment is known. It would appear the Mr Sloper does not possess the qualification required. The guardians should have their attention drawn to this and cause a minute to be made and forwarded to the Board pursuant to article 169 of General Order. Write for the medical certificate. Signed E H [Edward Hurst, Poor Law Inspector]. Poor Law Union Number 613. Counties: Glamorganshire and Monmouthshire.
