Portsmouth Officers to Commissioner Martin. Have examined the Gosport shore and find there is a wharf on the mudland about half way between Gosport Hard and the entrance of Hospital Lake which is joined to the shore by a bridge and from the wharf to low water Mark is a jetty or gangway upon piles. A Channel is cut through the mud up to the wharf intended to receive a floating dock which is made from the old sheer hulk. The works were carried out by Messrs. White and Company. The works proposed are continuing by Messrs. Miller, Forbes and Company but make slow progress
