Description

Copy letter from Henry Mills to the Board. The Masters of vessels in the employment of Gatcombe: George Roberts of the Friends Adventure, Charles Bushby of the Phoenix, Richard Blair of the Friends Goodwill, John Wild of the Southampton and Mark Lee of the Batchelor, have awaited a convoy since August 1778. They sailed without convoy to and from Gatcombe and Plymouth only once and were then convoyed by the Andromeda. They will carry no more timber unless proper convoys are provided.
