Description (What the record is about)
-
William Marsden. The agents for Lieutenant McLean have asked for him to be allowed full pay from the time he left the Cyane slop in the West Indies with dispatches until, after carrying out that duty, he joined the Prevost sloop. He is shown on the books of the Cyane as discharged on 10th June 1803. He was entered on 21st July 1803 as a supernumerary on the Pique for passage to the West Indies, by order of Lord Gambier, and discharged on the 3rd September 1803 to join the Cyane. No book has been received from the Prevost. As he was sent home on service and then ordered to rejoin Commodore Hood, by Admiralty order, believe he should be paid as if on the Cyane, until he commences on the payroll of the Prevost in October 1803 and ask for approval.
