Description

William Marsden. Commissioner Grey of Sheerness reports a fire in the Blacksmith's shop on the morning of the 15th. By the efforts of Admiral Rowley and the staff of the yard as well as the crews of ships, the fire was extinguished by 3 a.m. Damage was confined to the roof and one or two chimneys. It was caused by sparks in the chimney.
