Description

William Marsden. Messrs. Tucker, Ancell and Churchill write from Plymouth that the Dispatch was built at Falmouth by Mr. Symons and arrived at Plymouth on 9th June. She was put on the slip to be coppered without survey, which was thought unnecessary as they trusted the workmanship of Mr Symons, who had trained at Plymouth. When inspecting her with the overseer and Symons they found the ship had been very badly built. Are sending a list of faults and ask whether any repairs should be made and whether a separate account should be kept of the costs due to the contractor's neglect.
