Description

William Marsden. Admiral Montagu at Portsmouth has forwarded a proposal from Rear Admiral Sir Israel Coffin, to alter the making of sein nets used in the Navy and submitting a sketch to illustrate the change. The present contractor for supplying sein nets says that such nets are already supplied to the Navy and that Admiral Coffin's sketch is incorrect as it does not show how current nets are made. The alteration can be made by any ordinary fisherman. Suggest that Captains should be supplied with sufficient twine to enable them to make alterations when they think fit.
