Description

William Marsden. William Lemon, Carpenter of the Impregnable, has petitioned for the R to be removed from William Lemon, his late son's name, for when he was Purser of the Hobart sloop. The certificate provided by the Surgeon of the Amboyna Hospital says he was discharged from sick quarters on 30th August 1799 for the benefit of a change of air. A letter from Mr. Lippiatt, which says he was killed defending the London Indiaman on which he was passenger. It is appropriate to remove the R from the books of the Hobart on Admiralty approval.
