Description

William Marsden. In February an order for the value of wine issued on the Hector for the use of the sick, should be charged in equal proportions between the Surgeon and Captain John Elphinstone, because it was issued on Admiralty order. The Commissioners for the Sick and Wounded have examined the Surgeon's journal and find no evidence that the wine was ever used in medical cases. The Surgeon has been charged with half the value but the Captain is dead.
