Description

William Marsden. The Alert lugger has been surveyed at Dartmouth and has been found suitable for Naval service. Have written to the owners, Messrs. Wright and Company, to ask whether they agree to the terms they offer, which includes a crew of 40 men. They consent but suggest a larger crew and make suggestions about her small arms. Ask for permission to finalise the arrangements to hire the vessel.
