Description

William Marsden. Lieutenant Edgar at the signal station at Selsey, writes that when the Cerberus was on shore at Pullen Bank on 27th January, Midshipman James Chathfield and John Walker, an assistant at the station, were sent off to the ship with a Pilot and on the return journey were drowned. Lieutenant Edgar asks for an allowance to pay funeral costs and to pay Walker's aged parents. He was their chief support and they cared for his child.
