Description

William Marsden. We are to accept bills drawn for the hire of vessels at Liverpool and Dublin for the service to Ireland. List of 17 named vessels. Lieutenant Brown, agent for transports at Liverpool, has drawn bills in favour of William Graves, Master and owner of the Unity and of Peter Brown, owner of the Rebecca. Commissioner Bowen of the Transport Board has not stipulated in drawing up contracts, that bills should be drawn up from time to time and the methods of payment are not clearly stated. Nor is it clear that the vessels should be armed to defend the coast of Ireland. We need to know which vessels have arrived and at whose expense.
