Description

William Marsden. A complaint was made about the quality of shirts and stockings supplied to Chatham for the Royal Marines there. The patterns available in the office, were approved by the Admiralty. Every delivery of clothing supplied has been inspected by General Souter Johnston and certified by him, but we admit the quality of the shirts and stockings conform to the patterns. They think they are inferior to what they should be.
