Description

William Marsden. Mr. Wellington, Shipwright Officer was sent to Leith to help Captain Clements to fit vessels in the area to defend the coast. He was to stay there until Mr. Whidbey arrived to take up his post. On 28th December Mr. Wellington reported that Mr. Whidbey wants him to stay to fit 25 herring boats with carronades but he has now left Leith without leaving Wellington with any orders. Ask how they should proceed.
