Description

Evan Nepean. James Reid, Master of the Winchelsea, and Captain Hatley have written relating to the former's discharge on health grounds, his disappearance and his replacement by the Master of the Diligence. Mr Reid first came into service in 1796 on Regulus in the West Indies, being appointed to a death vacancy by Sir William Parker. He does not seem to have received the bounty.
