Description

Philip Stephens. Mr. North, Master Shipwright at Port Royal Jamaica, has complained of uncommon ill usage from Captain Davey of the Diligence sloop, treating him without the least provocation with foul language and striking him, whilst in the execution of his duty. Are sending a copy letter and one he wrote to Vice Admiral Gayton and ask for them to be laid before the Commissioners. Hope notice and action will be taken, to prevent the like hereafter, as the yard Officers will be discouraged.
