Description

Philip Stephens. M. Hauve L'Aire of Havre has written to Lord Weymouth concerning the expenses incurred by him for subsistence paid to 13 English Seamen put forcibly on his ship, the Robust, in her passage from Martinico by a rebel privateer. The disbursements exceed the subsistence allowances payable but as no accounts have been rendered, we are unable to give further information. If the men remaining at Havre have declined to come to England, when opportunity offered, suggest no further subsistence should be paid.
