Description

Philip Stephens. Have hired the Lapwing belonging to Messrs. Clements of Harwich and have fitted her with hammocks, bedding, slops and necessaries as usual, as she is to be employed to receive men procured at Harwich and Ipswich. To save time, have directed the Kennoul tender, Thomas Bett, Master, taken up for River service and properly fitted and stored, to Harwich to receive the men procured there and at Ipswich. Have written to Messrs. Clements to order their vessel to Deptford to be surveyed and measured and ask for approval.
