Folio 155. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to Samuel Harding, Clerk to the Guardians of the Newcastle under Lyme Poor Law Union, pointing out that Mary Johnson, Elizabeth Cadman and William Chester, stated to be in the workhouse and dangerous at times or to others, should be removed immediately to an asylum or other licensed place, as to keep a dangerous lunatic in the workhouse for more than fourteen days was illegal. Paper Number: 686/B/1846. Poor Law Union Number 421. Counties: Staffordshire.
