- Folio 215. Letter from William Bolton Girdlestone, Clerk to the Guardians of the Southampton Incorporation, to the Poor Law Board, forwarding a report [not included] relating to the relief of the poor in accordance with a letter dated 27 March 1849 addressed to the 'Overseers of the Poor of the United Parishes of Southampton'. Girdlestone says he has not be able to sent the return as the book is not closed but he says he has sent a return taken from the last book closed in all the parishes. Annotated: the return was received. S5031/1849. Poor Law Union Number 407. Counties: Hampshire.
