Letter from William Bolton Girdlestone, Clerk to the Guardians of the Southampton Incorporation, to the Poor Law Board regarding the availability of 'Grant by Government of money for the purpose of promoting Education and for Medical Attendance on the Poor' He assumes that the application was to be made through the Poor Law Board and asks for the means, and forms be supplied. Annotated: 'The Board must sanction the salaries before the Incorporation can participate in the Government Grant - Send the requisite.' Paper Number: 14244/1849. Poor Law Union Number 407. Counties: Hampshire.
