- Folio 188. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board, to W Girdlestone [William Bolton Girdlestone], Clerk to the Guardians of the Southampton Incorporation, saying that they have received from the district auditor a statement made pursuant to article 43 of the general order of accounts in reference to the books of the several unions in his district. It appears in this statement that Girdlestone does not keep the parochial ledger, form 12 relief orders book, form 13 and the pauper classification book, form 15 and that the general ledger is imperfectly kept. They request reasons as to why compliance with the above-mentioned order was not met. Paper Number: 5778/1849. Poor Law Union Number 407. Counties: Hampshire.
