Folios 721-723. Letter from J and W Rees Mogg [John Rees Mogg and William Rees Mogg], Clerks to the Guardians of the Clutton Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board requesting their opinion as to the propriety of paying the charges incurred by Harriet Kennard whose baby was delivered at the inn in East Harptree. Kennard was not a pauper but was quite destitute. Copy of the bill dated 20 October 1853 from the overseers of East Harptree to William Salvidge in the sum of £1 12s 2d covering board and lodgings for 11 days for Kennard and her baby. Annotated: the assistance appears to have been upon the order or direction of the overseers of East Harptree and it will be for the guardians at their discretion, to deal with the case under the 10& 12 Vic c 110 s 2. Paper Number: 38402/1853. Poor Law Union Number 374. Counties: Somerset.
