Letter from J and W Rees Mogg [John Rees Mogg and William Rees Mogg], Clerks to the Guardians of the Clutton Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board informing them that they have elected Mr Henry Stevens to the office of schoolmaster at the workhouse for a trial period of two months at a salary of £25 per annum with rations. Confirmation of appointment is requested. Annotated: point out that under the Board's regulations, they are not vested with the authority to appoint a schoolmaster for a limited period. Paper Number: 34519/1853. Poor Law Union Number 374. Counties: Somerset.
