Folio 685. Letter from J and W Rees Mogg [John Rees Mogg and William Rees Mogg], Clerks to the Guardians of the Clutton Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board informing them that the schoolmaster, Charles Harris, has been notified by the guardians that his services will not be required after 8 October 1853 when his two month probationary period expires. The guardians do not consider he has performed his duties efficiently. Annotated: A schoolmaster is appointed to hold office until he dies, resigns, is dismissed by the Poor Law Board or is insane. Paper Number: 33219/1853. Poor Law Union Number 374. Counties: Somerset.
