Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to J and W Rees Mogg [John Rees Mogg and William Rees Mogg], Clerks to the Guardians of the Clutton Poor Law Union, sanctioning the appointment of Elizabeth Jones as nurse at the workhouse for a trial period of three months at a salary of £10 per annum and rations. A report will be required at the end of the trial giving the guardians opinion as to how Jones has performed her duties and whether she can read writing sufficiently to enable her to efficiently perform the duties of nurse. Paper Number: 32678/1853. Poor Law Union Number 374. Counties: Somerset.
