Letter from J Rees-Mogg [John Rees-Mogg] and W Rees-Mogg [William Rees-Mogg], Clerks to the Guardians of Clutton Poor Law Union, Temple Cloud, Bristol, to the Poor Law Board, forwarding a copy of the guardians' resolution for payment of £5 5s each for and description of emigrants from St Thomas's, Pensford, to Port Philip, Australia; they ask for a speedy reply as the ship on which they hope to sail leaves within a week. First enclosure: the guardians' resolution, signed by M Player. Second enclosure: a list and description of those persons seeking to emigrate from Pensford in the Clutton Poor Law Union to Port Philip, Australia. Those listed are George Smith, 23, agricultural labourer, Melinda Smith, his wife and Caroline Smith, daughter. Paper Number: 4468/1852. 5439/1852. Poor Law Union Number 374. Counties: Somerset.
