- Folios 258-259. Letter from J Rees-Mogg [John Rees-Mogg] and W Rees-Mogg [William Rees-Mogg], Clerks to the Guardians, Clutton Union, Temple Cloud, Bristol, to the Poor Law Board asking approval to pay 15s to clerks for all the extra work, of which they give details, under the Nuisances Removal and Disease Prevention Act; they point out that implementation of the Act has been very successful in this area: although several hundred notices have been served only nine people have had to be summonsed. Annotated: the Board are not prepared to sanction; but a gratuity could be given, if approved by the Board, for services already rendered. Paper Number: 26529/1849. Poor Law Union Number 374. Counties: Somerset.
