Folios 407-408. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to J and W Rees Mogg [John Rees Mogg and William Rees Mogg], Clerks to the Guardians of the Clutton Poor Law Union concerning the case of Joyce Bryant of the parish of Compton Dando who died in the parish of Publow, Clutton Poor Law Union, on 9 February 1847, and noting the coroner's verdict that she had died of 'starvation and want of food'. They note circumstances of relief claims made by Bryant as detailed by John Dudden, Relieving Officer, in witness depositions to the coroner, and request the observations of the Clutton guardians on the matter.
