- Folio 352. Letter from William Espin, Auditor for Mansfield Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission. Referring to a former farm house and premises now used as a barracks. For five or six years the poor rates have been paid without objection. Espin has now received a claim for exemption from parochial rates. Espin is asking if he is justified in passing the claim in the list of excused rates presented by the overseer. Also can rates already paid since the acceptance of the premises as a barracks, be returned. Paper Number: 10002/B/1842 Poor Law Union Number 337. Counties: Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
