- Folio 386. Letter from J Riley, Auditor of the Basford Poor Law Union, regarding the charges laid against him by 'certain parties'. He had attended the enquiry conducted by [Robert Weale, Assistant Poor Law Commissioner] on 7 June, and although certain of his own innocence feels some anxiety, and asks to be informed of the outcome, and, if not contrary to normal usage, to be sent a copy of the evidence submitted. Annotated: send Mr Riley a copy of the 22 June letter to the guardians, 8180/B/1842. Paper Number: 9139/B/1842. Poor Law Union Number 334. Counties: Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
