- Folio 361. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to G Farrand, Chairman of the Guardians of the Basford Poor Law Union, in reply to his letter of 22 June. They enclose their letter of 14 June [not included] demanding the resignation of [William Ashton, Clerk to the Guardians of the Basford Poor Law Union] and containing the grounds for this, which they suggest Ashton may not have submitted to the guardians. The guardians must now appoint a new clerk in his place, and are referred to Articles 4 and 5 of the Order of 21 April. Annotated: see 9252/B/1842. Put by. Paper Number: 8490/B/1842. Poor Law Union Number 334. Counties: Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
