Description

Folio 1: Captain L'Fay; disease or hurt, haemoptysis. The morning of the action received a severe wound from a grape shot on the left fore arm which fractured both bones and considerably lacerated the soft parts which rendered amputation necessary. The operation was performed by the captain's wish above the elbow by mosiuer L'Grit the French Surgeon Major. Put on sick list, [?]. Discharged 4 May 1809 on his paroul of honour. Folio 1: Benjamin Chevien; disease or hurt, was wounded on the carpus and one of his fingers burnt with gunpowder. Put on sick list, [?]. Discharged 6 May 1809 to Antigua Hospital.
