One reply quotes from the 18 Elizabeth [Act]. Letter signed by EC [Edwin Chadwick, Secretary to the Poor Law Commission] and JL [John George Shaw Lefevre, Commissioner]. Annotated: Copied. Sent. Paper Number: 3997/C/1836. Poor Law Union Number 334. Counties: Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
