Folio 182. Draft letter from Poor Law Commission to Reverend Stephen A Cooke, Chardstock Vicarage, near Chard, [Somerset]. Acknowledges Cooke's letter of 13 May 1846 and informs him that Mr Graves, [John Thomas Graves] Assistant Poor Law Commissioner has been instructed to enquire into the charge made against Mr Hayman [Mr Philip Hayman], Medical Officer for the parish of Chardstock and alleged neglect of William Walden. Mr Graves will be unable to proceed with enquiry tomorrow when he attends the Axminster Poor Law Union but will proceed as soon as is practicable. Paper Number: 5746/A/1846. Poor Law Union Number 76. Counties: Devon and Dorset.
