- Folio 164. Draft letter from Poor Law Commission to J Jolliffe, Medical Officer of the Axminster Poor Law Union, Chard, [Somerset]. Refers to Jolliffe's letter of the 26 April 1846 and states that the Poor Law Commission have instructed Mr Graves [John Thomas Graves, Assistant Poor Law Commissioner] to enquire into the matter of this complaint and he will attend a meeting of the board of guardians of the Axminster Poor Law Union on 15 May 1846. Letter requests Jolliffe to have his witnesses in attendance or submit list of witnesses to be summoned by Mr Graves. Paper Number: 4633/A/1846. Poor Law Union Number 76. Counties: Devon and Dorset.
