- Folio 150. Draft letter from Poor Law Commission to Robert Bonfield, Overseer, Chardstock, Axminster. Acknowledges letter of 23 March 1846 and regarding the enquiry contained therein, the Commission states if this person has resigned and resignation has been accepted and no other office is held in the union, the fact he was Relieving Officer would not render him ineligible for the office of Guardian if otherwise qualified. Paper Number: 3445/A/1846. Poor Law Union Number 76. Counties: Devon and Dorset.
