- Folio 574. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to Mr Ferrand, Harden Grange, Bingley, informing him that the Board had been unable to reply fully to his previous letter relating to an enquiry before an inspector on 7 February 1855 until the relevant inspector had been consulted. The inspector is unable to attend the meeting on 7 February but 14 February is suggested as an alternative. If Ferrand can inform the Board if that is convenient the Board will instruct the inspector to communicate with the guardians. It would be helpful if Ferrand could give the Board the names of the individuals and firms who are the subjects of his allegations. The Board is unable to compel the guardians to meet but refers Mr Ferrand to articles 34 and 35 of the Consolidated General Order relating to extraordinary meetings. Copies of the relevant documents to be sent [not included] Paper Number: 4043/1855. Poor Law Union Number 571. Counties: Yorkshire West Riding.
